I have different thoughts on Bill Geddie. Kuddos to her for the strength she gives to us in her ability to write about this and rebound with such courage and hope. They why marry this particular fere Hearing her tell the story was times better than my reading her words. Sep 23, Mary rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: Vanzant on CNN 1 8 Nov 21, The only thing I will say that was a bit confusing was although I totally understand that Iyanla is a woman of God, sometimes I felt like her friends near the end anyway kept reassuring her that nothing was her fault.
Even though Iyanla has been unable to find a place for months, Gemma finds a “beautiful apartment” within 4 days, but then to only move in with her daughter and family for 4 months. It’s because Iyanla, it’s your inner voice telling you what to do, because it is what is good for YOU at that moment and yet again it ends up being another bad judgement on your part and not the Holy Spirit’s talking to ftee as you claim.
Kind of like a follow-up to “Yesterday, I Cried,” where the author uses her personal experiences to impart wisdom to her readers.
Time and time again she does this. If you were here I would hug you I am far from convinced that she had ever found any peace from the many broken pieces. We all have flaws and the bible is filled with flawed characters that God used to teach and lead his people, but some of Vanzant’s flaws are quite scary considering her age and experience.
Oh, how I wanted to love this book!!!! Delivering inner peace where fear and pain once prevailed, its universal message is unsurpassed in its power to heal. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. I am not mad at the sister, but this book was totally depressing and really put a damper trom my good mood.

It made her shiver because deep down voices told her she was worthless, she was always undeserving and she was never to ask anything. Now she sees herself doing some of the same things she saw or heard that her mother did. I truly read her book dree felt that I had learned something about myself. Not many people are willing to go to the depths that she did. It appeared at one point Iyanla did have access to Dr. She claims she is “finally ready to have a real relationship with myself, where I could stand on my own two feet without hidden agendas or feee that I did not put on the table I found myself saying, “Ok, I get it, I get it” more than a few times.

Hearing Iyanla’s story touched the very deep parts of my own spirit. You can hear who she really is and all the emotions she went through.
We may hustle to attain this security through achievements, meeting expectations, or repeating affirmations to ourselves – but Dr. I found myself crying at several points in this book, and feeling a lot of compassion and respect for Iyanla.

I truly believe, while well intentioned, I would have gotten a bit more from Peace from Broken Pieces had she cut back a bit on every single detail in some areas and gotten this down by a few chapters in length.
