I don’t think I’m going hte be able to finish this one. But I can’t actually recommend it to anyone else. We’ve all heard that history is written by the victor.

Aragorn is portrayed as a puppet of the elves who has been instructed to usurp the throne of Gondor by murdering Boromir who he had discovered alone after Merry and Pippin were captured before Gandalf tne Denethor.

The Last Ringbearer

I think I’ll leave Middle-earth stories to Tolkien. Although despised by the Gondorian aristocracy, Aragorn finds favor with the people as his policies result in an “economic miracle” and after his death, childless, the throne reverts to the “rightful” king Faramir. Occasionally The Last Ringbearer demonstrates flashes of awesome, such as the chapter-long riff on the Far Harad slave trade and a slave rebellion that begets an empire, but the book is otherwise largely a slow slog through knee-deep mud.

We were given one side of the story by Tolkien.

Unfortunately, Yeskov then decides to spend another third of the book in Umbar, an area on the map of Middle Earth that doesn’t get much attention in the Tolkien oeuvre. The mixture of these elements is blended perfectly. It retells the LoTR from the perspective of Mordor and with ysskov more realist spin on the world.

Por suerte y en algunos momentos por desgracia el autor no intenta emular el estilo de Tolkien. I did have a hard time keeping the characters straight mostly because their internal voices seemed identical to each other man, troll, or orc. So far, so good. I like the rinngbearer and I enjoyed parts of the very beginning, but once Eskov ringbeater past setting up this vision of Middle Earth and the events of LOTR from a different perspective and into plotting and character development he completely lost me.

Pass this one over. Not really my genre. The Skel I thought this was a ripping good tale. And I will confess.

I’ve really enjoyed starting to read through this book and I’d be interested in providing an audio version of it. One thing led to another, and he tackled a bigger project – what would happen if we assumed that it’s no less real than our world?

The Last Ring Bearer

I would not have if it hadn’t been an “assignment”, and I’m glad I did. It is an interesting experiment, even kiril not to my taste. Thanks for telling us about the problem. March 11th, It’s a neocon’s wet dream. It’s not so much LOTR from Mordorian perspective but a shoddy attempt of spy-military novel which just happens to use some names from the Lord of the Rings.
